2025 PROTERO Dolcetto (new release)
2025 PROTERO Dolcetto (new release)
Dolcetto at its most joyful.
Aroma / Lush | Exuberant | Fun.
Sumac and brick dust begin. Then an intesnse blast of mulberries and dark cherry among bitter chocolate and tranistory wafts of moscatel.
The Protero opens with sumac, brick dust, and a whisper of Parma, before an exuberant rush of mulberries takes hold — threaded through with bitter chocolate and violet bud.
On the palate it's fleshy and compote-rich, with those signature Dolcetto tannins doing their alternating dance: firm then soft, dusty then melty, finishing with the warmth of a sweet rye fruit loaf.
True to the Langhe tradition — where Dolcetto sits comfortably alongside Nebbiolo and Barbera — this is a wine made to be enjoyed now, and enjoyed generously.
Pour it throughout the meal, from vitello tonnato through to Nutella Baci, and wonder why you don't drink more Dolcetto.

The tradition in Dolectto’s spiritual homeland, The Langhe, where its nestled alongside Nebbiolo and Barbera, is to sweetly smile, lick your lips, and guzzle it upon release. We see no reason to question this tradition.
