2023 S.C.PANNELL Sunrise 100 Grenache

In 2021 the opportunity presented to purchase a nine hectare Grenache vineyard planted in 1922 in the heart of Blewitt Springs.

Two bush vine blocks; one facing the morning sun, and the other warmed by the setting sun, was too good to pass up. Finally, Stephen had a home for S.C.Pannell Grenache.

This is the 100th vintage from the Sunrise block.

Tasting Note

Flavour

The palate is focused and refined with incredible length and tension. Densely flavoured with intense forest berries and pomegranate, wound around savoury, earthy, ferruginous tannins, and a lingering woody earl grey tea persistence to close.

Goes With

Decant or enjoy as it unfurls over a couple of days. Try with osso bucco, sausage and lentil stew, or eggplant
parmigiana.

Cellaring

This wine is made with the intention to age, and should do so for more than thirty years in a cool cellar.
